TRADITION AND QUALITY

Nestled in the heart Barocco of Lecce, the Bed & Breakfast Mamma Sisi is found in Piazza Sant’Oronzo, the center and heart of the city life where the famous column named after its holy patron can be found. From here you can easily walk to all the major attractions of the historic center; just a few steps away is the Church of Santa Croce, one of the symbols of the city and the Villa Comunale gardens offer unforgettable moments of peace and tranquility. Located on the first floor of an elegant building with an elevator, the B&B offers a pleasant and modern environment. Our staff is always at your complete disposal to provide any useful information to make your stay a pleasant and unique one.

As a regular visitor of many B&Bs, I recommend to everyone the Mamma Sisi, an extremely comfortable stay, with friendly and helpful staff and a hearty breakfast…definitely an experience to be repeated.

NOBLE ROOTS

Licea, originally a Roman city, which today is known as the Florence of the South Italy, is a beautiful and refined city. A stroll through its rich and evocative historical center can be really exciting; made entirely of cream-colored stone and so velvety that it seems likes smooth plaster, the heart of Lecce is different from all other cities in the Puglia region. The church of the Rosario, the church of San Giovanni Battista and the church of Santa Croce are simply magnificent, as are the monumental entrance to the enclosure of Piazza Duomo, the former Celestine convent and much, much more.

Strolling through the downtown streets and the splendid Piazza Sant’Oronzo is a unique experience, perhaps while savoring a “pasticciotto”, one of the typical Salento pastry specialties which is filled with a delicious cream and baked in the oven. The desserts, which are a delicacy in Salento, are just the tip of the iceberg of an extraordinary cuisine, which is poor yet precious, because it is based on simple ingredients such as cheese, vegetables and meat. But also rich because it derives from centuries of a culture of food.
